Instruments in God’s Hands

Dear Heavenly Father,

You and you alone are the only reliable, pure, and perfect source of compassion, comfort, love, and peace. You are the God of love and the only one able to touch and fill the deepest part of our heart; this space is only meant for you. No matter the stuff we try to cram in there, our fulfillment, contentment, and satisfaction will never be met. The materialistic objects and the people whom you’ve placed all around us can never reach the spot that you’ve created just for yourself. How good, kind, and faithful you are to those whom you’ve called back to yourself. Thank you, Father God.

Thank you Heavenly Father, that our identity is rooted in something deeper than relationships, possessions, achievements, and wealth. Our identity is sealed and secure in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is your Son who knew no sin but became sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor. 5:21). We are housed firmly in the Great High Priest and His Spirit, God the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns in us. How truly blessed the children of God are; righteous before a perfect and holy God because of what God the Son did for those whom God the Father gave Him.

We do not have the ability to figure you out. We cannot begin to understand your thoughts and ways by our own intellect. We do not summons salvation, it is given to us by your grace. We are saved through faith. This is not of ourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast (Eph. 2:8-9), however, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart–that is the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation (Rom. 10:8-10).

Father of mercies, help us to give comfort, love, and compassion to others just as you give. Tune our ears to your wisdom and to those who are in need of your grace so that we may share the Good News of Jesus Christ which is His death and resurrection, forgiveness of sins, and new life born of the Spirit. Grant us words of encouragement and counsel so that those who feel alone know that they are not alone, for you are present everywhere. You know every detail in our lives and you work for our good, for your glory! Lord, you are a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble; And those who know Your name will put their trust in you, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You (Psalm 9:9-10). As we believe and trust in you, may we tell others of Jesus, so they may also come to believe and trust in you. May we model ourselves after your Holy Son so that your love is felt and absorbed by your power by those around us.

Give your chosen the courage and boldness to speak words of faith. Empower us to be a light in this world, help us to set the captives free by your Word, your truth, and by your story of redemption. Jesus, you came into a world darkened by sin and You shed the light of life and truth through the work you did on earth and by your words. Those who trust in You have eyes wide open (Gotquestions.org; Name of Jesus), we see the Unseen, we walk in the light of God. May we be instruments in your Hands!

We praise and bless You and we pray all of this in our Savior’s Name,

Amen!
