Heavenly Father,
Grant to us sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer (1 Pet. 4:1-19). Protect our mind, may it not, by Your Almighty Word, be victimized by emotion and passion, out of control, or knocked out of balance by worldly lusts and pursuits because it is this kind of mind that cannot know the fullness of holy communion in prayer with You, Lord God.
Grant immeasurable peace of mind, help us to trust you completely to care for our souls. May we, by your mercy and grace, be joyful. May we be in continuous worship of your Sovereignty. May we fully enjoy you just as You have created us to do. Fix our mind on the second Advent of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the Good Shepherd, our Mediator, Salvation, and Bread of Life. Purify the battlefield in our mind so we may love, embrace, relish, and delight, to the highest degree, the fellowship you have called us to.
Lead us into watchful pursuit of holiness!
In Jesus’ precious and glorious Name we pray, Amen!
