I Have Calmed and Quieted My Soul (A Song Of Ascents Of David: Psalm 131, ESV)
O LORD, my heart is not lifted
up;
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvelous for me.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, hope in the LORD
from this time forth and forever-
more.
Praise be to God, “this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come” (Hebrews 13:14, NLT). One day we will see our Lord and Savior, “for we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body whether good or evil” (2 Corinthians 5:10, ESV).
Dear Heavenly Father,
We praise you and thank you for your mercy and grace, your faithful pursuit of us, your Son Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection. Thank you for the Holy Spirit, our Helper, our Guide, Protector, Intercessory Prayer Warrior and so much more. How good and kind you are! We are well taken care of, our needs met in abundance, and victorious by the blood of Jesus! Thank you!!
Oh, Father, I pray this morning, for continued transformation in the hearts of humanity! Help us serve others as Jesus did, without conditions, judgement, mockery, or greed. He genuinely and generously gave to those around Him, thinking of the lives before Him before thinking of Himself, concerned with their lack and pleased to provide according to the Father’s will. Let all come together and worship you, fill us till overflowing with the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22), and empower us to do your good works for your glory and honor (Matthew 5:16). Calm and quiet our souls and accomplish all you have set out to do! In Jesus’ Name, I pray,
Amen!!
